Summer School from another point of view - thanks to the kids and Tom!!

Three photos from the kids on my camera, then a load from Tom Gamon, whose flickr you could check out. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomgamon). With a much better camera.

The kids took the pics for their IT project for the summer school. Took a nice photo of the three older girls here. Erika, Margarita and Jeny. For the princely sum of 10USD, if they started at the beginning as Erica did, they got 6 weeks of Enlglish tuition. Over three hours a day. And it was a pleasure for all concerned to help them. Erica was quite simply the perfect student.

Nedo, a wonderful volunteer from Switzerland who rode his bike from Ushuaio in the south up to Ecuador.

Saidy, one of the stars of my dance class. Great pic...

And here are Tom's and a lot better camera than mine as you can see. I love the feeling of the fun in this pic. That's what I liked best about the summer school.

Lenin and Sairy! Both quite capable of being naughty but rather adorable as well.

Chris teaching frisbee.

Leo, whose smile was probably the most popular in school :)

Melanie was a truly wonderful kid and Tom has got a really good one of her. Amazing that she was still long enough for the photo to be taken if my dance classes were anything to go.

More frisbee.

Not a bad shot... Which volcano is it though?

Waterfall near the baths in the centre of BaƱos if I'm not much mistaken.

A fantastic shot of the only lightning storm of the two months.

When some doctors came to give free medical care in the community centre, we had to vacate for them. So we took the kids down to the river.

Was really nice to be out and about with kids.

A view from our balcony.

A local street.

Local farmers.

And back to the day out with the kids. A great idea from one of the volunteers - three legged race.

... Same day...

Yours truly being evaded by Diego. A great kid when he wasn't being a bit of a character. Ahem.

Robert, the boss. Started this project at 73.

None of it would be possible for the foreigners if Robert didn't spend a lot of hours every day answering emails, paying bills at the house with his own money etc

Yeray! A bundle of energy by no mistake.

The food we cooked and ate together was one of the highlights of the time at Pachamama hostel.

I just love the texture of this one.

Aw, makes you feel good, doesn't it?

Lovely pic of Marjioli :)

And there we all are. Lovely bunch of volunteers, great kids. Job done. Time to head to Quito to look for last minute Galapagos deals.
